Hump Day Hook

Hello all, I've decided to get back in the swing of things. This week is action so I thought I'd share a little piece of my work in progress.

The sound of the Hollow’s moans was all Hannah cold hear other than horrified screams of the people of Haven. The three of them killed Hollow after Hollow. Thankfully, Hannah spotted her father and several other townspeople also making a dent in the horde. It was midday so everyone had been in the town square doing their part. That’s why the Hollows had honed in on the center of town. Suddenly, Hannah was overwhelmed with the same pain she’d felt when Angie and Joshua had been bitten. She crumpled over and screamed.
“Hannah!” Jaxon caught her before she hit the ground. “Hannah what’s wrong?”

“Bitten—people are bitten.” Hannah gasped for breath, but none would come. “The sickness is spreading.”

Hump Day Hook

Hello people...it's been a while. Sorry for that, but I've been in writer mode for some time and am finally at a point where I think I can finish this damn book. I thought I'd share a little piece from it with you. This is not the cover for the book just a visual image for you.

At seven years old, Hannah didn’t understand what the emergency broadcast meant when it blared through the television. The sight of people running and screaming in panic didn’t register in her young mind. She remembered her mother covering her eyes when something came on the TV she shouldn’t see. Her father stayed on the phone and in his combat uniform, always at the ready. The sights on the TV were one thing, but when the screams started ripping through the air right outside her home, Hannah started to panic.

Hump Day!!!

Hello, how is everyone? It's that time again. I'm giving away a copy of Gravity Beach (Courage Series book 2) This is the summer give away blog hop and I'm supposed to tell you why I love summer time. The truth is...I don't like summer. LOL...I live in Georgia so it's freaking HOT. I hate being hot. There's only so much you can take off...well within the law anyway...so normally I'm miserable. Fall/winter is my time of the year. Anyway, here is a snip-it from Gravity Beach.

Excerpt:
“You have no right to say that to me, and then walk away. You don’t know me!”
“I want to though, but I’m not willing to be pulled in and pushed away.”
“You have no idea why I am the way I am.”
Jolie was soaked to the bone and shivering, but she held firm as she stared David down.
“Then tell me so I know what I’m getting into.”
“I loved a man with every little part of myself—”
“Let me guess, he broke your—”
“He died!” The words exploded out her. Shock filled David’s expression followed by what looked like guilt. “I pull and push because I have no idea what I’m doing. I like you David, but if I think about letting you in just a little, I see his face in my head.” She started sobbing.
“I—what do I say to that?” he said so quietly she almost didn’t hear him.

I will announce the winner this weekend so make sure you leave your email address!

Hump Day Hook

Hello all, sorry I missed last week. I've been trying to get a new book started and it always gives me a hard time in the beginning. Anyhoo, I've got a good start so I thought I'd play this week. I think I will give you all a little piece of it and see what you think. It's a young adult novel so there is nothing steamy in it. Sorry to disappoint! LOL here you go. This is from the first book in my future State of Decay series, The Deadlands. It's a zombie book cause we all know zombies rule! Well, unless they are trying to eat your face off...then all bets are off. This is NOT the cover because the book is still in the works, but I did make this to give you a visual!

Excerpt from The Deadlands, Book 1 of State of Decay series. (This is un-edited so sorry for any errors)
“I’ve been in here for two weeks!” Sarah landed a solid kick against the glass.
Sadly, the glass only vibrated, but didn’t shatter the way she would’ve liked. Apparently they learned a lesson from the last time they put her in this room. Her anger grew as did the power within her. She felt her insides heat up and when she glanced at her reflection, she saw her hazel eyes spark a strange orange color. Her hands fisted tightly. The lean muscles in her arms coiled as she fought against the foreign power inside her. Sarah started shaking as she tried to calm down. Her temper was the reason she was stuck in the stupid room.

So as you can see, Sarah is a little badass. I hope you like this because it's a ball to write. Let me know what you think!

Hump Day Hook

Wow...it's been weeks since I have been able to do a HDH post. I'm simi back to normal so I signed up this week. Anyhoo...I won't keep you waiting any longer. I give you a bit of Jolie and David from Gravity Beach! Because I've been absent here is a little smexy time.

Excerpt:

David ghosted his fingertips down the back of her arms, over her hips, and finally to the back of her thighs leaving chill bumps in his wake. He gripped her legs and lifted her easily off the floor. She felt small and breakable in his massive arms, but somehow in her heart, she knew he would treat her with care. She held onto him tightly as he took two steps to the bed, placed one knee on the bed, and gently lay her down on her back. Jolie liked the weight of David against her as he hovered over her, poised.

Just to give you a visual of what Jolie gets to play with, here is my muse for David.
